Problem
In 2001 the United States devoted 14% of its GDP — more than any other nation — to achieve a rank of 37th out of 191 countries in overall health system performance. In 2007 this had increased to 16.2% with no change in ranking. Businesses and patients are experiencing some of the fastest rising costs of healthcare in history while the number of uninsured people is increasing. Shifting patterns of disease, improvements in treatments and technology, and changing medical organizations are exerting pressure on professionals in the medical industry. Poorly designed and implemented change (both from within and outside healthcare) is only adding to the pressure and significant waste in today's healthcare system.

Solution
Our products are designed to improve healthcare by supporting and enhancing the performance of healthcare professionals and clinical teams, and eliminating waste. We believe that healthcare organizations need to develop skills within their organizations to maximize prevention, eliminate errors and waste in all its forms, minimize cost, and provide outstanding service and quality to their patients.

Unlike typical medical management firms, we focus on the success and skills of the frontline healthcare worker by developing a learning environment within a clinical team. This requires cooperation between management and frontline workers and the correct application of process and knowledge. We provide the educational tools and guidance leading to a well-designed pilot. The services include a website, presentations, workshops, and onsite consultation.

The pilots provide a crucial step toward developing Sustainable High Performing Clinical Teams. These teams of front line healthcare professionals:
  • Provide world class service;
  • Provide a supportive environment for members;
  • Contribute to the success of their organizations;
  • Contribute to the health of their communities; and,
  • Are sustainable over time.

As medical organizations work on creating Sustainable High Performing Clinical Teams, they improve their capacity to successfully innovate and become true "learning organizations." As successful learning organizations they can go on to improve the health of their communities, thus magnifying their success.
